Updating App Store Reviews
September 12, 2008 — Mike (admin)This post goes out to all the people who reviewed Feeds. We thank everyone who took the time to review Feeds (except for those individuals who put a review in for Feeds without purchasing or using it). Some great ideas were generated in the reviews and they helped to shape what Feeds now is. If anyone has a review out there for the old version (which is very, VERY different from the 0.95 release) can you please update it so that it is accurate? For anyone who hasn’t yet reviewed Feeds, if you use the application at all please take a few minutes out of your day to put in a review. We use the reviews to shape how the future of the product goes, along with the comments on this blog and the comments we receive via email. We strive to have accurate reviews up that are for the current version to avoid confusion for people who haven’t tried Feeds yet
Thanks.
I did a review about 0.95 : five stars.
but, it’s the danger to release a software too soon : people will not forgive easily or will forget your software.
Reviewed just some minutes after Feeds 0.95 was released and after using it for a mere 5 minutes… I knew it would be THAT good…you guys deserved the review and I hope everyone realizes how good this program is. I know I’ve been doing my share of “good word of mouth”
Carlos, Thanks for the feedback! We have a few little additions that we will submit to the App Store in a couple days such as unread count for categories, manual only feed refresh, font size selector for feed details and a couple other small items.

Hello,
i will update my review, but i still have some problems:
- it’s not very good that i cannot update feeds manually. This internal 5 minutes thing makes me crazy. I have feeds that are updating in every minute and i can’t refresh them whenever i want.
- and i found a serious problem: these feeds doesn’t show the latest, when i refresh. Now it’s 12:21PM, and it shows the 7:37am state, however there were several new articles since then.
Hi Justin, We just added manual update a couple days ago and will probably send it off to Apple by Monday for review.
What feed is it that you are seeing not get updated? It is normal to see feeds be behind by up to 20 minutes but 4 hours is extreme. It could be that they are publishing in their timezone and not in UTC/GMT. If you send the feed over I can look into it further.

Have praised this app before and again a great app. Any idea when we’ll be gifted with google reader integration?
Thanks Ed, We don’t like to put out release dates in case we find some bugs that require a bit more tinkering so I can’t say for sure. I can say that we have a small update going out Monday (as long as there are no more bugs found this weekend) that will add category unread counts and a few other minor details. As soon as that gets submitted Reader integration is our number 1 and only priority so it shouldn’t be too long.

Hi,
I was wondering if there’s a way to make feeds download more than just the single line summary of an article for offline reading. I have limited wifi access and hoped to be able to synch my feeds with the total text in the articles. Unfortunatly, I only get a single line summary.
Can anyone help?
thanks
Hi Mark, Feeds will only download what is in the RSS feed for offline reading. If the website chooses to only put a single line summary in the RSS feed that is all that Feeds will get. Some website owners put a lot of information in the feeds while others only put a single line in an effort to get you to go to the website. Feeds does not and will not ever download full websites. This would be disastrous to battery life to say the least. I can’t imagine you will find any application that will download full websites due to this fact and also the massive amount of bandwidth it would take.

A limit to the number of folders? I have 6 and can’t seem to add more, did I reach the limit?
thanks
Hi sannad, There is no limit to the number of folders. Are you using Google Reader to sync or Feeds? Are you getting an error? Does your folder have any feeds in it? If your folder has no feeds in it the folder will not be displayed.
