Quick Update on Version 1.3
February 8, 2009 — Mike (admin)With version 1.22 we introduced some really big changes on the backend. The entire system of saving and accessing feeds and feed items was redone from the ground up. So far the transition has been very smooth with just one bug that popped up that we have already fixed. We also found a little bug with the InstaPaper support that we have already fixed.InstaPaper will now work like so: if you are viewing a description and you touch the InstaPaper button you will be sending the feeds items permalink to InstaPaper along with the feed items title. If you view a page in the built in browser and touch the InstaPaper button the currently viewed webpage will be the one sent to InstaPaper.
A minor tweak to the UI will makes it’s way into the next release as well. We moved the ‘Add Feed’ button from the top left to the bottom left. This is to avoid accidental touching when going back from your feed items. As always, keep the feedback coming. As you all know, your feedback is what drives future development.
Thanks for all the hard work on this new version! I have a couple of suggestions to throw in the pot for future releases:
- When you send an email with a link to an item and then return to Feeds and hit the back button to go back to the list of items in the feed, it takes you back to the top instead of that item’s location in the feed. Can this be adjusted?
- Find a spot for a back button for the internal browser. Often an item’s full page will have a couple pages you have to navigate to in order to read the whole thing, and it would be nice to be able to go back if you want to reread something
Thanks for all your fantastic support and hard work on this great app!
Andrew
@Garibaldi, thanks for the feedback. Your two suggestions are officially on the list. We’ll see what we can do to get them done as soon as possible.
Mike
