Feeds Version 0.95 is Feature Complete
August 22, 2008 — Mike (admin)We just finished adding the last features that will make it into the next update for Feeds. This one is a MAJOR overhaul. Feeds was mostly rewritten from the ground up to accommodate the features that everyone requested. Here is a short video demoing the new features:
New Features for the Next Major Update
August 18, 2008 — Mike (admin)This post is just to keep everyone up to date on the development of Feeds and all of the new features that will be in the next major version. We have receive a ton of feedback on what everyone wanted to see in the new version and we quite simply put them in the order that they were most requested and started working on them. Here is a list of what to expect in the next major version (I’m sure I’ll forget a few so there will probably be updates to this post):
How do you want feed categories to work?
August 17, 2008 — Mike (admin)We have a ton of new features in the pipeline for future versions of Feeds. There is much debate as to how we should implement the feed categories so this post is to hopefully get some opinions from some of the people out there using Feeds.
Providing Your iPhone Device ID to a Developer
August 11, 2008 — Mike (admin)On occasion when submitting a bug for an iPhone application you will be asked to provide a Device ID. This is a 40 digit alpha-numeric code that represents your iPhone. Providing the Device ID allows developers to look for errors or other oddities in log files on our servers. This can prove to be instrumental in finding bugs/errors that had previously gone unnoticed.
Feeds version 0.93 and 0.94 Awaiting Approval
August 11, 2008 — Mike (admin)The next two updates to Feeds will be providing a few minor bugfixes with no new features introduced. We are trying to get a solid base out there that is as bug free as possible before getting offline mode and some of the other big features in there. The items we fixed in these next two versions are:
- Fixed the issue where the feed details would be behind the bottom bar
- Fixed the issue with not being able to remove certain feeds
- When adding a feed that was searched for the bottom bar will not longer slide off the screen
Feeds Version 0.92 Approved By Apple
August 7, 2008 — Mike (admin)We just got word that Apple approved the newest version of Feeds. It should be available in the App Store within hours. The first time you run the new version Feeds will automatically purge and re-download your feed list. This will fix the bugs some people were having with not being able to delete feeds. The only side effect is that the order of your feeds will not be preserved. We apologize about that and will try to avoid such inconveniences in the future.
Speaking of the future, we are hard at work getting offline mode setup for Feeds. This *should* be available in the next version (or possibly the one after that) so look out for it in the App Store soon.
Feeds version 0.92 Sent to Apple
August 1, 2008 — Mike (admin)We just submitted the new version of Feeds to Apple for approval.
New in this version:
- You can now touch the status bar to scroll to the top of all lists.
- Better internationalization and character support including languages other than English.
- The much requested “mark all as read” button has been added
- Up/down arrows while reading a feed to navigation directly to the previous/next feed description.
Keep the feedback and suggestions coming!
